DENTAL IMPLANTS

DENTAL IMPLANTS
The use of dental implants has revolutionized dentistry from both an aesthetic and functional perspective.
This technique makes it possible to restore, almost entirely, teeth that have previously been lost.
This technique makes it possible to restore, almost entirely, teeth that have previously been lost.
A dental implant is a titanium screw that replaces the root of a natural tooth that, for any reason, has been extracted.
The implant is placed in the bone of the upper or lower jaw and, over time, integrates naturally, allowing it to withstand forces just like a real tooth.
Dental implants are highly versatile, capable of replacing one or several missing teeth, with success rates above 95%. Today, in most cases, they are the ideal solution for tooth replacement.

A tooth
An implant is placed in the area of tooth loss and a crown, usually made of ceramic, is placed on top of it.
Several teeth
More than one implant is placed in the edentulous area, and single or “bridge” crowns are applied over them.
Total fixed
In most situations, there is no need to place more than 6 implants per jaw, and often (especially in the lower jaw) it is possible to place the prosthesis immediately after the implants have been placed.
Total overdenture
Implants are also used in cases of total edentulism to retain and stabilise dental prostheses (overdentures).
